Gaafu Alifu Atoll is truly the hidden gem of the Maldives! We stayed at Park Hyatt Hadahaa and were blown away by the pristine house reef. The diving was incredible - we saw sharks, rays, and countless colorful fish every day. The local island tour to Vilingili was also a highlight - such friendly people and fascinating culture. If you want to experience the real Maldives away from the crowds, this is the place to go.
We visited Gaafu Alifu during our honeymoon and stayed at Raffles Meradhoo. The marine life was spectacular - we even saw manta rays during our snorkeling trip! The resort was luxurious and the staff incredibly attentive. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the long journey to get there from Male, but it's absolutely worth it for the untouched beauty and fewer tourists. Would definitely recommend for those looking to escape the more crowded atolls.
