Raa Atoll is a hidden gem in the Maldives! I stayed at JOALI and was blown away by the luxury and service. The bioluminescent beach experience on Vaadhoo Island was truly magical - like walking among stars. The diving was exceptional with pristine reefs and abundant marine life. What makes Raa special is that it feels less commercialized than other atolls, with authentic local culture still thriving. Highly recommend for those looking for luxury with a more authentic Maldivian experience.

We spent a week exploring Raa Atoll, splitting our time between InterContinental Maamunagau and a guesthouse on Ungoofaaru Island. This gave us a perfect mix of luxury and local experiences. The atoll is less developed than others in the Maldives, which means more authentic culture and pristine nature. The marine life is incredible - we saw manta rays, reef sharks, and countless tropical fish while snorkeling. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the journey to get there is quite long, but it's absolutely worth it for the untouched beauty and fewer tourists.
