Frequently Asked Questions
The course typically takes 2-4 weeks depending on your schedule and learning pace. We offer flexible scheduling including intensive 2-week programs, standard 3-week courses, and extended 4-week programs. Part-time options are also available for those with longer stays in the Maldives.
You need a minimum of 40 logged dives to start the Divemaster course, but you must have 60 logged dives to receive your certification. If you start with 40 dives, you can complete the additional 20 dives during the course. We can help you plan dive experiences to reach the 60-dive requirement.
PADI Divemasters can work as dive guides, assist with training programs, supervise certified divers, and work in dive center operations. Popular opportunities include resort dive guide positions, liveaboard work, and assisting with diver education programs. We provide career guidance and job placement assistance.
Accommodation is not included in the course price, but we can assist with finding suitable lodging options. We work with local guesthouses, budget hotels, and can recommend accommodation that fits various budgets. Many students choose to stay on local islands for an authentic Maldivian experience.
While you can enroll in the Instructor Development Course (IDC) immediately after Divemaster certification, we recommend gaining some experience as a Divemaster first. This practical experience makes you a better instructor candidate. However, we do offer combined Divemaster + IDC programs for those ready for intensive professional development.
