I've spent a lot of time in the Maldives staring down at huge islands, silently hoping that the resort I'm about to land at isn't the one with the kilometer-long, villa-lined boardwalk snaking out to sea. Don't get me wrong: staying at larger resorts has advantages, but Cora Cora Maldives, which opened last year, is a shining example of the advantages of smaller ones.
